about 5 minutes from our cabin is Hardy Boat Cruises. This ferry takes you on the hour ride to Monhegan. Along the way they point out wildlife around you like flying puffins, seals and dolphins! Yes I saw dolphins but I was so caught up in the moment I didn't get a shot. Sorry not sorry!
(everything is linked at the bottom of this post)
Off we went!
Hello Beautiful! This tiny patch of earth was right next to the main island where we docked.
The rest of the day we were on foot. We immediately came across cute shacks. there are shops, places to eat and even an art gallery.
The homes there were very cute
Then, we encountered a real life shipwreck. Okay, it looks like a sailboat but still... it was cool!
After our hike through the cliffs we were quite hungry so we made our way back down to The Fish House. A small shack right on the beach. There is only outside seating but you cannot beat this view. The food? A-MAZING!
Lurker...
Shirt says it all...
So.... we saw a bald eagle! This guy was showing off too.
Day 2 had a lot more gloom for us but I absolutely loved it. It felt incredibly New England-y and made the day even more magical.
They boys were able to wake up early enough to join us on our last day and we were so excited to show them around the little island we had just fallen in love with the day before.
Our little hike led to this view!
We had to show them the shipwreck!
